People much richer than the Forbes list

Some examples of individuals and families who could have fortunes greater than the Forbes list

It's true that the Forbes list of the world's richest people generally features people with extraordinary fortunes, but there are many other people and families who could have even greater wealth but are not on that list for various reasons.

Some of these reasons could include privacy, lack of public financial information, or diversifying assets in ways that don't directly translate to a ranking on the Forbes list. Below I mention some examples of individuals and families who could have greater fortunes:

1. Royal families and monarchs

Royal families from different countries often possess vast wealth accumulated over generations. However, these riches are often found in the form of property, land and cultural assets, making them difficult to measure accurately in terms of monetary value.

2. Political leaders and rulers

Some political leaders and rulers in countries rich in natural resources or with less transparent economic systems could control considerable fortunes that are not publicly disclosed.

3. Unreported entrepreneurs

There are entrepreneurs who operate in not fully documented economies, making their fortunes difficult to track and evaluate accurately.

4. Private investors

Investors and entrepreneurs who have chosen to keep low profiles and operate privately could have considerable fortunes that are not reflected in the Forbes list.

5. Multigenerational families

Some families have accumulated wealth over generations and diversified their assets in ways that are not fully reflected in the Forbes list.

6. Non-monetary assets

There are individuals and families who own non-traditional assets, such as extremely valuable works of art, land or property that are not included in the Forbes list wealth estimates.

It is important to recognize that calculating personal wealth is a complex and often opaque process, especially when dealing with extremely wealthy individuals and families who may not voluntarily disclose their financial information.

The Forbes list

The Forbes list is only an estimate based on publicly available information, and there may be people with greater wealth who do not appear on it.

According to Forbes magazine's annual report, the world's billionaires increased their wealth by 60% during the covid-19 pandemic, reaching a record of $13.1 trillion. Among those who have the largest fortunes in the world, always according to Forbes magazine, are Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon, with 177 billion dollars; Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, with 151 billion; and Bernard Arnault, president of the luxury group LVMH, with 150,000 million.

These three businessmen are vying for first place on the list of the richest, followed by other tycoons such as Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg and Warren Buffett. The report also reveals that the number of billionaires increased by 660 people during the last year, reaching a total of 2,755 individuals with a fortune of more than one billion dollars.
